One element that action camera users usually get frustrated by is the lack of control over lighting when shooting video for Vlogging in front of the camera. However, GoPro looks to have found the perfect solution with the release of the Zeus Mini; a rechargeable LED and clip combo that is versatile and wallet-friendly.
By pairing the Light Mod for GoPro’s popular HERO8 Black camera with a versatile clip mount, GoPro has produced a go-anyway light source that will provide illumination for your video creations. The hands-free light can be quickly clipped onto many surfaces and the clip is magnetic, expanding your options when positioning it.
Setting up shots will be made easier as the light Zeus Mini is also wearable so you can clip it onto a jacket or onto a helmet if you are participating in a more extreme activity. The clip is also compatible with GoPro’s standard mount and swivels 360-degrees so you can follow any action without repositioning the mount.
With the rugged build quality you’d expect from a GoPro accessory, the Zeus Mini is waterproof to 33ft (10m) and, with four levels of brightness, enables users to control the power of the light, maxing out at up to 200 lumens.
The light from the Zeus Mini LED is rated for 5000K, which is a cool colour temperature and suitable for filming. The Zeus Mini’s battery lasts for up to 6 hours on a single charge and GoPro has put safety front and centre as the LED also includes a strobe mode to enable emergency signaling. The light is recharged via the standard USB-C connection and a light diffuser is included in the box to deliver a softer light effect – useful when videoing faces in the scene, especially at close quarters.
Available to order now, the Zeus Mini is light (pardon the pun) on the wallet, as it’s priced at $69/£65.
