Phase One has pulled the covers off its latest camera – the XT. Described as sporting a modular and travel-friendly design, the XT system is an ultra-portable medium format camera that offers a massive resolution of 151-megapixels.
Combining the digital back from the IQ4 Infinity Platform with the X-Shutter, the XTcan be paired with three optics from Rodenstock – the XT-HR Digaron-S 23 f/5.6, XT-HR Digaron-W 32mm f/4 and XT-HR Digaron-W 70mm f/5.6. The optics shift on both X and Y axes to correct for perspective distortion.
The system can also use the alternative IQ4 150MP Achromatic and IQ4 100MPTrichromatic backs, and will be of great interest to landscape photographers as each back offers 15-stops of dynamic range and a total of 14204×10652 pixels (11608×8708 from the 100MP back).
The XT systems features a 3.2-inch touch-sensitive display a come with a five-year warranty. Amazingly, the cameras offer amax long exposure time of up to 60 minutes and the XT IQ4 150MP model features an ISO range of ISO 50-25600.
Those landscape photographers who would like to connect to a laptop in the field will be pleased to hear the XT system offers Ethernet, USB-C and Wireless tethering option and exposure options are set via the large LCD, enabling the body to be compact.
Images are recorded to either or both of the XQD/SD card slots and the camera is likely to be of interest to photographers who wish to make huge prints.
