Seen as the entry-level model of Canon’s M range, the M100 will catch the eye of vloggers thanks to its selfie-friendly flip-up 3-inch LCD and ability to capture Full HD movies at up to 60p. The M100 features Canon’s powerful DIGIC 7 processor and offers an ISO range of 100-25600.
Capable of shooting up to 6.1 frames per second, the M100 offers 49 AF points and benefits from Canon’s Dual Pixel AF technology. Well placed as a travel camera, the tiny M100 weighs in at just 309g – that’s including the battery and SD memory card. Compatible with Canon’s range of M lenses, the M100 can also make use of Canon’s EF/EF-S lenses when used with an adaptor.
A built-in pop-up flash with a Guide Number of 5 will provide illumination for close up subjects in low light conditions and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology makes it easy to share images taken on the M100 to the internet via a smart device. The camera can capture JPEG and RAW files and is available in three different colour designs (black, white and grey). M100 users can customise their cameras further with a choice of nine ‘jacket’ designs.
The M100 will be available to purchase from October in the UK and Europe, though it’s expected to be until November before being shipped to the USA. The price-tag is expected to be £449 in the UK and $599 in the USA.
