For many years the Chinese manufacturer Yongnuo has been focusing on making some very decent lighting equipment, along with a small line of budget, knock-off Canon lenses.
We’ve previously reviewed both their 50mm f/1.8 and 35mm f/2 before, comparing them against their Canon equivalents.
They are notable for pretty shamelessly copying Canon’s designs, so earlier today they had no qualms in showing off their YN 100mm f/2 lens.
Even though the YN 100mm f/2 isn’t available yet on any online retail stores in the US or Europe, Photo Rumors saw the lens on the Yongnuo Hong Kong store. Photogearnews also had a quick hands-on at Photokina.

Students and well, anyone looking for a budget portrait lens might be interested in this, since honestly, where else are you going to find a 100mm f/2 for US$170? The original 100mm f/2.0 USM currently retails for around US$500.
