Find the Golden Ratio with this Pocket-sized Card

For the photography enthusiast in love with Fibonacci and finding the perfect sweet spot in photos, a New York-based design brand Areaware are selling a transparent viewfinder to help you nail that golden ratio.

The geometric curve is commonly found in nature and perhaps explains why the spiral is considered so aesthetically soothing to the eye; even more so than the rule of thirds.

The acrylic plastic card is laser-etched with a diagram forming the basis of the geometric curve. The card can also be held up against objects as a composition aid and stored inside your wallet when not in use.

Areaware write, “Perfect proportions observed in nature often follow the theory of the golden section. The golden section is the ratio between the dimensions of natural and geometric forms. Historically, artists, designers and architects have used it as a means of defining beauty in a theoretical rather than intuitive way. Use the Golden Section Finder, a pocket-sized gazing device, to locate the proportional perfection in your surroundings.”
