According to a new rumour, Canon is brewing a beast of a lens in its secret vaults deep beneath the earth. Okay, that’s perhaps a tad overdramatic, but the patent for this EF 28-560mm f/2.8-5.6 super zoom is anything but.
As CanonRumors is quick to point out, such a lens would be massive, but just look at that zoom range. We’ve heard before that Canon have been working on a replacement for the EF 28-300 f/3.5-5.6L IS, and speculation indicates that this could be the next generation.
The patent filed by Canon looks very intriguing, and should have plenty of full frame Canon shooters eager to hear more. Although this lens would be huge, not to mention heavy, we’d love to see something as ambitious as this from the company.
Would you invest in a monster EF 28-560mm f/2.8-5.6 should one appear? Do you even lift, bro?
